Globaltel SA is a South African telecommunications company specialising in hosted VoIP telephone systems, VICIdial call centre solutions, and business networking infrastructure.

Our focus has always been on making powerful telecoms technology accessible and affordable for South African businesses of all sizes — from a sole trader with a single extension to a call centre with 100+ seats.

We built our R99/extension/month hosted PABX offering on the principle that every feature should be included. No tiered pricing, no upsells, no "premium" features hidden behind a higher plan. One price, everything enabled.

Early 2000s
Into VoIP from the ground up
We entered the VoIP space when it was still a fringe technology in South Africa, building expertise in Asterisk-based systems when most businesses were still entirely on PSTN lines.

Hosted PBX & Call Centre Solutions
As cloud hosting became viable in South Africa, we moved to a fully hosted model — eliminating on-site PBX hardware and giving clients flexibility, reliability, and lower costs. We added VICIdial call centre deployments for clients needing campaign management at scale.

Remote Work & the Smartphone Extension
The shift to remote and hybrid work made the smartphone extension critical. We integrated mobile app support into our hosted PABX so staff could take their work extensions home with them — no hardware needed.
